The Role

Join a busy cotton ginning operation in Katherine, NT, as a Cotton Gin Loader & Forklift Operator supporting the safe and efficient movement of cotton, materials and equipment across the site. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced agricultural environment where safety, teamwork and attention to detail are essential. You'll operate forklifts and front-end loaders around gin machinery, trucks and other heavy equipment while helping keep daily operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

You'll play an important role in maintaining safe and efficient cotton gin operations, using forklifts and heavy machinery to move, load and position cotton and other materials. You'll also complete routine equipment checks and work closely with the broader site team to maintain a safe working environment.

• Safely operate forklifts in a busy industrial and agricultural environment
• Load and unload pallets, bales, bags and other materials
• Move and stack cotton bales as required
• Follow load limits, stability requirements and safe lifting practices
• Operate a front-end loader or similar heavy machinery
• Safely load, unload, move and position cotton modules
• Work safely around trucks, module haulers, gin machinery and other heavy equipment
• Conduct daily pre-start checks on forklifts, loaders and other machinery
• Identify and report mechanical faults, damage and safety issues promptly
• Follow site safety procedures and support efficient cotton gin workflow

Your Skills & Experience

• Current LF High Risk Work Licence (forklift) and driver's licence
• Forklift experience in an industrial or agricultural setting, including loading, unloading and stacking
• Front-end loader or similar heavy machinery experience
• Able to do pre-start checks, identify faults and carry out basic maintenance
• Safe operation around trucks, pedestrians and gin machinery, with a strong focus on WHS
• Works well in a busy team
