Job description

The Role

We are seeking Experienced Strawberry Runners join a strawberry nursery operation in Ballandean, QLD. This role involves working within the production shed and supporting the handling, grading, trimming, cleaning and packing of strawberry runner plants. The role is suited to physically fit candidates who can perform repetitive manual tasks, maintain attention to detail and work effectively as part of a team.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will support day-to-day nursery production operations, focusing on the safe and efficient handling, processing and packing of strawberry runner plants while maintaining high quality, hygiene and biosecurity standards.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Handling and processing strawberry runner plants within the production shed
  • Grading, trimming, cleaning and packing plants
  • Inspecting plants for quality, uniformity, damage or signs of disease
  • Preparing trays and packaging materials for daily dispatch requirements
  • Operating or assisting with basic production equipment under supervision
  • Maintaining clean, organised and hygienic work areas
  • Following all workplace hygiene, biosecurity and safety procedures
  • Recording work outputs and reporting quality issues or equipment faults to supervisors
  • Assisting with palletising, labelling and stock movement
  • Performing general nursery and production duties as required

Benefits:

  • $32.18-$33.05 per hour + penalty rates
  • Approximately 38 hours per week
  • Potential overtime during peak periods
  • Opportunity for ongoing work depending on production requirements

Your Skills & Experience:

To be considered for the role, it is important you can demonstrate the following:

  • Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and willing to move between tasks as required
  • Ability to follow workplace safety, hygiene and biosecurity procedures
  • Good communication skills and a positive work ethic
  • Previous horticulture, nursery, packing or produce processing experience is preferred but not essential
