Packing, labouring, and cleaning roles are open to people just starting out in meat processing. The main thing is going in prepared. The work is indoors, but it’s a full-on environment, carcasses, blood, and organs are part of the day-to-day reality. If you’re comfortable with that and ready to work hard alongside a big, fast-moving team, there’s a role here for you.
Knife hands, boners, slicers, trimmers, and slaughtermen are always in demand and the pay is strong, from $28.26 up to $36.05 an hour with bonus structures on top for the right people. Proven knife and sharpening skills, a Cert III in Meat Processing, and a Q Fever vaccination will all work in your favour. Own transport and full working rights in Australia are also required.
At Agri Labour Australia, we’re committed to ensuring stringent rules around safety and compliance at our clients’ facilities is adhered to at all times. All successful candidates are required to participate in inductions, training and pre-employment education, as well as attain the necessary safety knowledge and appropriate skills prior to starting work. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be carried out prior to beginning work and randomly throughout your employment.
