Available roles

Working in the poultry industry involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities, and work is done in all types of weather. Some of the roles include:

  • Poultry attendants
    • Responsible for the daily care and maintenance of poultry, poultry attendant tasks include feeding, watering, monitoring bird health, cleaning enclosures and ensuring a clean and safe environment for the birds.
  • Egg collectors
    • Egg collectors are responsible for gathering eggs from laying facilities, checking for quality and damage, and ensuring eggs are handled and stored correctly. It’s repetitive, detail-oriented work that requires care and consistency throughout each shift.
  • Relocation staff
    • Relocation staff are responsible for the safe movement of birds between sheds or facilities. This involves careful handling to minimise stress on the birds, working efficiently as part of a team, and following strict biosecurity and animal welfare protocols throughout the process.
  • Vaccination staff
    • Vaccination staff work as part of a team to administer vaccinations to poultry flocks in line with health management programs. The work is fast-paced and requires attention to detail, the ability to handle birds safely and confidently, and a commitment to following the correct procedures every time.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people with a positive attitude

You’ll need to have good communication skills, be able to follow directions and prove yourself as a team player. Good performers will have the opportunity to take on supervisory roles and progress to further in their role.

Care and consistency are everything in egg collection

You’ll be gathering eggs, checking for quality and damage, and making sure every egg is handled and stored correctly throughout your shift. It’s steady, detail-oriented work that suits people who take pride in getting the small things right, every time.

Relocation work is fast-paced and team-driven

Moving birds between sheds and facilities requires confidence handling poultry, a strong awareness of animal welfare, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a close-knit team. Strict biosecurity protocols are followed throughout, so attention to detail and a disciplined approach to procedure are essential.

Vaccination teams need to be quick, careful, and consistent

Working as part of a vaccination crew means administering treatments to large flocks in a fast-moving environment. You’ll need to handle birds safely and confidently, follow correct procedures every time, and maintain focus throughout long shifts. Previous experience with animals or in a similar role is an advantage.

All successful applicants are required to participate in inductions, training and pre-employment education and attain the necessary safety knowledge and appropriate skills prior to starting work. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be carried out prior to beginning work and randomly throughout your employment.
