Job description

Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated food manufacturing operations located in the Dooen, VIC area. They are currently looking to fill 100 Food Production Employee positions across their food manufacturing facility, with work commencing from January 2027 onwards.

You are required to work in a food manufacturing environment where you will be on a rotating shift roster across day, afternoon and night shifts. The work to be performed include; production, packing, storage and associated work areas, therefore you must be fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, perform repetitive movements and manual handling activities. Temperatures can vary between 0°C – 25°C, inside the facility, depending on which department you work in. You will also be required to lift, carry, pack and stack products or equipment with up to 15kg in weight.

You will be paid under the Food Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award – Level 1, an hourly rate of $25.74 per hour, with a minimum of 38 hours of work, per week. This will be aligned with the Fair Work Commission’s annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay. You will be offered between 1-4 years of work with potential to upskill.

Key duties include:

  • Operating and monitoring production equipment and machinery
  • Packing, sorting and handling finished products
  • Performing quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications
  • Following food safety, quality and workplace health and safety procedures
  • Assisting with production changeovers, cleaning and basic equipment troubleshooting
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
  • Moving products and equipment throughout production and storage areas
  • Working collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets
  • Identifying and reporting equipment issues, safety hazards and quality concerns

Characteristics and Aptitudes:

To be considered for the roles, it’s important you meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a factory, manufacturing, food processing, production or similar environment
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating day, afternoon and night shifts
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Ability to follow procedures, work instructions and quality requirements
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
  • Physical capacity to undertake manual handling duties and remain standing for extended periods
