Job description

The Role

We are seeking Forestry Pruning Workers to join an established forestry operation near Casino, NSW. Working outdoors in a hardwood plantation environment, you will be part of a practical, safety-focused team carrying out pruning work across five-year-old plantation trees. This is a physically active role involving ladder work, repetitive movement and working across uneven outdoor terrain. Candidates will need to be comfortable following instructions, handling pruning equipment and working safely in changing outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Your focus will be pruning plantation trees to the required standard while maintaining safe work practices and caring for tools and equipment throughout each shift.

  • Prune tree limbs in line with supervisor instructions and required standards
  • Safely position, carry and use ladders to access branches
  • Operate hand shears and pole saws safely and effectively
  • Complete repetitive physical tasks including reaching, bending, climbing and carrying equipment
  • Inspect tools before use and keep equipment clean and well maintained
  • Keep work areas tidy and clear pruning debris as directed
  • Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE

Your Skills & Experience

  • Comfortable with physical, outdoor work and manual tasks
  • Able to safely handle ladders and equipment
  • Comfortable working at height and on uneven ground
  • Relevant industry experience is advantageous
  • Reliable, safety-focused and able to follow instructions
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Clear communication skills; UHF radio experience is advantageous
  • Current driver licence and reliable transport required
  • Comfortable working in a natural outdoor environment
