Job description

The Role

We are seeking reliable and hardworking Grain Handler/Yard Workers to join a busy grain site in Emerald, QLD, for the upcoming harvest season. This hands-on agriculture role operates in a fast-paced outdoor environment where teamwork, safety and reliability are essential. You will support the day-to-day movement and handling of grain, assist with truck operations and help keep the site clean, safe and running efficiently throughout harvest.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will support grain receival and yard operations to help maintain safe and efficient site activities during the busy harvest period. You will work closely with the site team while following all safety and operational procedures.

  • Assist with safe truck movements around the grain site
  • Support grain receival, loading and unloading activities
  • Carry out general grain handling duties
  • Maintain clean and organised work areas
  • Complete general yard and site duties as required
  • Support general yard duties between truck movements and receivals
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers and team members

  • Approximately 50 hours per week, weather dependent

Your Skills & Experience

  • A valid driver's licence would be advantageous
  • Previous grain, harvest or agricultural experience is highly regarded
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
  • Physically capable of completing hands-on yard duties
  • Good communication skills and a positive work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and site procedures
