Job description

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Packhouse Supervisor to join a potato operation in Atherton, QLD, within the horticulture and fresh produce industry. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the potato packing shed. You'll coordinate the team and workflow to ensure produce is processed, packed, and dispatched efficiently while meeting quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

You'll oversee daily packhouse activities and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

  • Supervise daily potato grading, packing, and dispatch operations
  • Coordinate staff and allocate tasks across the packing shed
  • Monitor product quality and packing standards
  • Ensure production targets and dispatch requirements are met
  • Maintain workplace safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards
  • Identify and report operational or equipment issues
  • Support and guide team members throughout each shift

Your Skills & Experience

We're looking for a reliable and organised supervisor who can lead a team while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

  • Previous packhouse, fresh produce, horticulture, or production experience preferred
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience highly regarded
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to coordinate staff and manage daily priorities
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and hygiene
  • Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
