Job description

The Role

We’re seeking a reliable Orchard Irrigation Hand to join an almond orchard operation in Liparoo, VIC, approximately 30 minutes from Robinvale. This is a varied, hands-on outdoor role supporting irrigation systems, fertiliser application, general orchard maintenance, and machinery operation. You’ll work as part of a practical team where safety, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions are essential.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the orchard, with a particular focus on irrigation and general farm duties.

  • Monitor and maintain orchard irrigation systems
  • Assist with irrigation repairs and general maintenance
  • Mix and apply fertiliser as directed
  • Complete general orchard and crop maintenance tasks
  • Operate farm machinery and equipment as required
  • Identify and report irrigation, equipment, or maintenance issues
  • Follow instructions provided by supervisors, including radio communications
  • Maintain safe and tidy work areas
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful, you’ll have previous farming experience and be comfortable completing physical work in an outdoor environment.

  • Previous farming, orchard, or horticulture experience
  • Irrigation experience highly regarded
  • Physically fit and capable of completing manual farm duties
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe work practices
  • Good spoken English with the ability to understand work instructions over radio
  • Comfortable operating farm machinery and equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
