The Role

Agri Labour Australia is seeking reliable and hardworking Orchard Workers to join a busy apple-growing operation in Harcourt, Victoria, for the upcoming thinning and harvest season.

This is a great opportunity for candidates looking for consistent seasonal work, with the potential to transition directly from the thinning program into the apple harvest season.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will be responsible for thinning apple crops, picking and harvesting fruit, sorting and handling apples carefully, and carrying out general orchard duties while following workplace safety procedures and meeting daily production targets.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Thin apple crops to promote healthy fruit growth and improve fruit quality.
• Pick and harvest apples carefully to meet quality standards.
• Sort, handle and pack fruit while minimising damage
• Perform general orchard duties as required.
• Climb ladders, bend, lift and carry out other physically demanding tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and instructions.
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve daily production targets.

Benefits:

• $33.05 per hour + penalty rates
• Approximately 45 hours per week during apple thinning
• Potential to continue working through the cherry harvest season
• Develop practical orchard and fruit-picking skills.
• Gain valuable hands-on experience in the horticulture industry.

Your Skills & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have the ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Be physically fit and capable of performing repetitive and demanding tasks.
• Be comfortable with bending, lifting, climbing ladders and standing for long periods.
• Have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Have reliable transport to and from work.
• Previous thinning, picking or orchard experience is desirable but not essential.
