Job description

The Role

We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Mill Hygiene Workers to join a busy milling and food production environment in Leeton, NSW.

Working within the grain milling and food processing industry, you will support day-to-day site hygiene by maintaining clean, safe and well-organised production areas. This is a hands-on, physically active role in a busy operational setting, where attention to detail, teamwork and safe work practices are essential.

You will work closely with milling and production teams to help ensure hygiene standards are maintained without disrupting daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping across milling and production areas. The role is essential to supporting food safety, workplace safety and efficient site operations.

  • Complete general hygiene and cleaning duties throughout milling and production areas
  • Sweep, vacuum and remove dust, rice and other product residue from floors, machinery surrounds and work areas
  • Clean production areas, walkways, equipment surrounds and other designated areas
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the mill
  • Remove waste and dispose of materials in designated areas
  • Assist with cleaning around machinery and production equipment in line with site procedures
  • Identify and report hygiene, safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors
  • Keep walkways, access points and work areas clean and free from hazards
  • Follow site food safety, hygiene and quality procedures
  • Use cleaning equipment and products safely and correctly
  • Wear required PPE and follow all site safety procedures
  • Complete manual handling and general labouring duties as required
  • Work closely with production and milling teams to maintain hygiene requirements
  • Complete other reasonable duties as directed by the site supervisor

Your Skills & Experience

  • Reliable, punctual and committed to completing the full assignment
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and the importance of maintaining a clean working environment
  • Physically fit and comfortable completing repetitive and physically demanding duties
  • Comfortable working in a busy milling and production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high hygiene standards
  • Able to follow instructions, site procedures and safe work practices
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working around machinery and production equipment
  • Previous experience in industrial cleaning, food manufacturing, grain handling, milling, warehousing or production is advantageous but not essential
