The Role

We are seeking experienced Sugar Cane Haul Out / Tractor Operators to support operations across farms in the Burdekin Region, QLD, within the agriculture and sugar cane harvesting industry. This is a hands-on role operating haul-out and tractor equipment during harvest, supporting the transport of cane from paddock to processing. You'll work in a fast-paced, high-output environment where safety, efficiency, and reliability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

This role supports cane harvesting operations through safe machinery operation and general farm duties.

• Operate haul-out equipment, tractors, and associated machinery
• Drive and operate tractors including John Deere and Case IH models
• Assist with transporting harvested cane efficiently across sites
• Perform basic servicing, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment
• Complete safety checks, risk assessments, and required documentation
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and contractors
• Follow all SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and site procedures
• Assist with general farm duties as required

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in agricultural machinery operation and comfortable working long hours during harvest.

• Experience in haul-out or broadacre harvesting operations highly regarded
• Proven tractor operation experience in agricultural environments
• Current open manual driver's licence (essential)
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
• Willingness to work night shifts and early mornings
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
• Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in demanding conditions
