Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated Beef operations located in Comet and surrounds. They are currently looking to fill 50 Feedlot Hand positions across their farming sites, with work commencing from September 2026 onwards.

You are required to work in a farming environment where dust and the smell of livestock is present. You will be comfortable working with live and deceased cattle and not afraid of getting your hands dirty. All animal handling and treatment must be conducted within the company's guidelines on animal welfare. You will be a team player who is physically fit and more than able to handle heavy lifting.

You will be paid under Pastoral Award - Level 1 at a minimum rate of $26.86 per hour, with a minimum of 38 hours of work, per week. This will be aligned with the Fair Work Commission's annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay. You will be offered between 1-4 years of work with potential to upskill.

Key duties include:

The main purpose of the role is to perform day to day livestock related operation, from livestock receival and induction, pen riding, hospital treatment, post-mortems, through to preparation of cattle for dispatch to a processing facility.

• General Cattle handling

Ensure all animal handling and treatment is conducted within the guidelines of the AACo Policy on Animal Welfare Ride a horse through all pens daily to ensure all animals stand and are in good health Draft out any sick animals or those not eating and move to the hospital for treatment On dispatch count cattle from feed pens and to dispatch pen.

• Induction

Ensure livestock are Inducted into the feedlot as outlined in the induction management procedures and relevant livestock work instructions Move cattle through yards to crush for individual processing Operate hydraulic crush and gates Install ear tags, administer injections in neck of animal, band tails, check number of teeth and back line Use a computer operating information collection system to record all identification, weight and treatment for all cattle inducted Count and move cattle to feed pens using horses

• General Feedlot Duties

Carry out all general cleaning and maintenance duties at feedlot induction shed and hospital facilities Maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements Inventory control and stocktaking of all livestock products Keep areas clean and tidy, removing rubbish and disposing of all waste Grease/maintain crush and gates, clean troughs Maintain compliance with WHS, HR, QA and Environmental standards Maintain saddles and other tac by regular application of leather conditioner

Characteristics and Aptitudes:

• Comfortable working in a livestock environment
• Good communication skills and able to follow instructions
• No asthma or dust allergies
• Live locally or be happy to relocate to Comet
• Physically fit and comfortable in carrying out labour intensive duties
• Comfortable working in direct contact with poultry in a smelly environment
• Able to follow directions and work unsupervised whilst showing high levels of initiative
• A team player and happy working with a multicultural team
