Job description

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join a busy operation in Kinglake West, VIC, within the agriculture and food production industry. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced production environment, where you will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency. You'll work closely with the maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

This role focuses on maintaining plant and equipment to ensure efficient production and minimise downtime.

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Attend breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and restore machinery quickly
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues
  • Maintain and repair conveyors, compressors, pumps, and processing equipment
  • Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and support cost control
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety, HACCP, and quality standards

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified tradesperson with strong mechanical skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

  • Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter
  • Experience in plant maintenance within production, agriculture, or food processing environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
  • Ability to work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems
  • Physically fit and able to work flexible hours and weekends when required
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical assessment
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
